History:
In 1977, Games Workshop was able to make a deal to get a license from TSR to print a co-branded edition the Dungeons & Dragons basic rules book. They created a unique cover that was only released in the United Kingdom, and they further replaced numerous illustrations that they deemed not sufficient for their market. Furthermore, John Blanche created the cover art for the new book at the very beginning of his career and went on to become very famous at Warhammer. This is one of the primary reasons these books are so rare, there are limited remaining in such good condition and they actually contain replacement artwork that was never seen before in the standard versions of the D&D basic rulebooks.
